Alaska Native 8(a) Corporations Receive Larger Sole Source Awards than Traditional 8(a)s: Alaska Native 8(a) corporations offer federal government clients flexible, directly negotiated contracts, with awards of up to $100 million for Department of Defense (DOD) projects and $25 million for non-DOD projects without the need for Justification and Approval (J&A). If J&A is obtained, there is no dollar limit on these contracts (Reference: 13 CFR 124.506(b)).

Accelerated Procurement: The average Procurement Action Lead Time (PALT) for competitive contracts exceeds 250 days, while sole-source awards to Holitna average less than 30.

Protests Against Alaska Native Corporations (ANCs) are Unsuccessful: Alaska Native Corporations offer flexible sole-source contracts that are resilient to award protests and significantly reduce the risks associated with complex evaluations (Reference: FAR 19.805-1(b)(2)).

Meet Subcontracting Goals and Qualify for Rebates: Receive access to Indian Incentive Program (IIP) and General Contractor rebates, as well as Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) and Native American credits (Reference: FAR 19.703 (c)(1)(i)). Federal government contractors who offer subcontracts to Alaska Native 8(a)s qualify to receive a 5% rebate of the total value of the subcontract (Reference: SEC. 504.
